If you need financial help to build your business, government funding is available for research and development or for growing business capability.
The business growth team at Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) offers free, independent advice to help business owners access funding and other assistance.
ATEED can help eligible businesses access funding for training and business coaching, as part of ATEED’s role in delivering the government’s Regional Business Partner Network programme across Auckland. Contact us to find out if your business is eligible.
Regional Business Partners (RBP) programme
ATEED is part of the Regional Business Partner network (RBP). This network is supported by Callaghan Innovation, NZTE and Business Mentors New Zealand, to provide information and advice to New Zealand businesses.
As a RBP we have specialist business advisors available to help business owners and key managers identify needs and opportunities to grow their business. We can provide advice, information, referrals and connections to businesses seeking support for their growth journey.
Business Mentors New Zealand offer two programmes for businesses in Auckland. The first is a unique business mentoring programme for owners of SME businesses that are currently trading and employ less than 25 employees. The second is an accelerated mentoring programme specifically targeted at Start-ups.
The mentors are typically successful business people from diverse industries, and passionate about helping other Kiwis succeed. They’re a great sounding board for you and bring a fresh perspective to your business. Auckland Chamber of Commerce manages this service in Auckland in partnership with ATEED.
