Auckland Transport has released a new video that profiles Auckland’s major transport priorities featuring Kiel McNaughton, best known for his previous role of ‘Scotty’ in Shortland St.
Kiel takes us on a journey from Pukekohe in the South through to Hobsonville in the North West, using different forms of transport along the way. The story revolves around Auckland’s population growth and how we are preparing ourselves for the future by building new transport infrastructure and providing new options for getting around.
The travelogue highlights Auckland’s Regional Public Transport Plan projects; New Network, Simplified Fares, Light Rail and Ferries, and also covers the Central Rail Link, cycling, AT HOP and technology, like mobile phone apps.
AT Manager of Campaigns, Rob Pitney, said the creative style of the video is a very different approach by AT.
“It allows us to show Auckland now and in the future. This is also one of the first times we’ve published a marketing piece that shows the breadth of the work that AT is doing in Auckland to improve movement for us all. Auckland is undergoing unprecedented growth and this video clearly outlines the transformation that is occurring throughout the city as we develop our key projects and respond to increasing demands on the transport system.”
“This will be an important tool for AT to use at consultation events, in discussions with community stakeholders and as information for our all customers.”
