Transport

Auckland has a variety of transport services available to get around some of the best places to visit in the city. Take a bus up to Auckland Museum, a train to Newmarket, or a ferry over to Waiheke Island.

LINK bus services: ‘The LINK bus services offer a convenient and cheap way to get around Auckland and are simple to use. To catch a LINK bus, just look for the red, green or amber buses and wait at a matching bus stop. The service operates on such a frequent basis that a timetable is not necessary. There are three different LINK routes, and all prices are in New Zealand Dollars:’

 

City LINK

Cost: $1.00 maximum adult and tertiary cash fare and 50c maximum child cash fare.

  • Monday to Saturday - every 7 to 8 minutes* 6.25am to 11.25pm
  • Sunday and public holidays - every 10 minutes* 7am to 11.20pm

Inner LINK

Cost: $2.50 maximum adult and tertiary cash fare and $1.50 maximum child cash fare.

  • Monday to Friday - every 10 minutes from 6.30am to 8.00pm* and every 15 minutes from 8.00pm to 11.00pm*
  • Saturdays - every 15 minutes from 6.30am to 11.00pm*
  • Sundays and public holidays - every 15 minutes from 7.00am to 11.00pm *

Outer LINK

Cost: $2.50 or $4.50 maximum adult and tertiary cash fare and $1.50 or $2.50 maximum child cash fare.

  • Monday to Saturday - every 15 minutes from 6:30am to 11:00pm*
  • Sundays and public holidays: Every 15 minutes from 7:00am to 11:00pm*
