Why visit?
Omaha is a favourite holiday destination with many Aucklanders who own baches (kiwi holiday homes) in the area. Famous kiwis such as Prime Minister John Key and fashion designer Trelise Cooper are among those that holiday at Omaha.
The small community, long white sandy stretch of beach and uninterrupted gulf and island views make this the perfect spot to unwind and get away from it all. The beach is carefully monitored by lifeguards and is a great playground for surfers and windsurfers. The protected all-tides harbour provides safe swimming for children and the good launching facilities make it an ideal location for recreational boaties and yachties.

Breathe in the fresh coastal air and stretch the legs along one of the surrounding walking tracks or reserves. Practice your golf swing at the championship 18-hole course and enjoy the nearby tennis courts, bowling green and children’s playground.
