In Vivo: Sculpture By Oliver Stretton-Pow

Tivoli: art | books | film

Just back on Waiheke from the installation of his sculpture Ship of Fools (Infrastructure no.6) selected for Sculpture by the Sea, Perth, Oliver Stretton-Pow exhibits an intriguing group of works.

Like many of Stretton-Pow's works the Tivoli pieces present contradictions and conundrums. As the artist aptly puts it 'Materiality, concept, form and structure jostle for position', with viewers challenged to deconstruct the layers of meaning generated by each work.

A wide range of materials are used by the artist in the Tivoli exhibit - including cast glass, bronze, native timbers white oak, wine barrel staves.

Opens Saturday March 11, 5pm, all welcome.
