Pohutukawa Coast & Clevedon Country

The Pohutukawa Coast is aptly named after the golden coastline decorated with New Zealand's famous pohutukawa trees and a view that looks out to the islands of the gulf. A holiday on this coast offers an ideal getaway where you can relax on one of the many beaches and enjoy swimming, kayaking and windsurfing.

Just inland from the beaches you'll find Clevedon Valley abundant with gourmet delights, a farmers market, crafts, restaurants and vineyards. Be sure to pay a visit to the Italian inspired winery Vin Alto, the welcoming Twilight Vineyard and pick up some fresh oysters at Clevedon Coast Oysters.

Nature is also in abundance and you only have to look around to appreciate the vast areas of forest on The Pohutukawa Coast. Dotted around the coastline are a number of regional parks with invigorating walks, mountain bike trails, renowned bird watching spots as well as some of Auckland’s best views of the Hauraki Gulf. Further inland is Auckland’s largest forest area, the Hunua Ranges. Here you can immerse yourself in nature and find waterfalls and streams to cool off in.
