Enjoy the bustling Auckland markets – find fresh local produce and tasty treats at local farmers’ markets or shop for arts, crafts, jewellery and more at some of Auckland’s markets.

Country markets

Head to the Matakana Village Farmers’ Market on Saturdays to pick up artisan cheeses, Italian meats, organic chocolate, homemade chutneys, craft beer and other gourmet goodies. Or head east Auckland to Howick Village Market to wander between a wide variety of cuisines, the woodcraft, jewellery, garden adornments, roses, lavender soaps and creams, woollens and other handcrafted products. On Sundays, the Clevedon Village Farmers’ Market serves up fresh produce, pastries and baking, and the popular Coatesville Country Market, held on the first Sunday of every month, has around 100 stalls selling food, art, jewellery, homewares and clothing.

City markets

If you’re staying in the central city, try the City Farmers’ Market in Britomart on Saturday mornings, or the lively La Cigale French Market in Parnell, on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. You’ll find handmade breads, olive oils, delectable meats, pastries, chocolates, condiments, cheeses and more.

A cultural experience

Join the locals at the buzzing Auckland Night Markets, held at eight different locations across the region on different nights, for traditional street snacks and delicacies from around the world. Get a taste of authentic Māori, Pacific, Asian and Indian food, clothing and art at the Otara Market on Saturday mornings.
