The bustling markets are a favourite at Pasifika Festival, with a lively atmosphere and a huge range of arts and crafts.
There are more than 100 craft stalls offering a variety of authentic products and experiences, from tattoo artists and black pearls to many crafts of the Pacific. See stone carvers from Fiji, traditional mat weavers and take a dance lesson to keep up with the bells of Samoa and the Cook Islands. See the umu pits as they’re uncovered and smell the rich aromas of steamed foods as they drift through the air.
Many of the stalls inside the villages are run by community groups or families who come together to showcase their arts and crafts, for a truly genuine Pacific market experience.
