Embassy of the United States of America

The United States Mission to New Zealand, in partnership with Hawaiian Airlines and Hawaii Tourism are proud sponsors of Pasifika 2013.  The United States has been, and always will be a Pacific Nation.  We are happy to showcase the traditional Pacific art of hula at this year’s festival by sponsoring Blaine Kamalani Kia and his incredible team of hula dancers from Hawaii.  Hula, sometimes known as the ‘Hawaiian poetry of dance’ showcases the traditional heritage and cultural identity of the islands of Hawai’i.  The dancers will perform on Saturday 9 March at: Prosperity stage, 12 12:20pm/Tahiti stage: 2 – 2:30pm/Tonga stage: 3:40-4pm, and Sunday 10 March: Pan Pacific stage, 12-12.20pm, Prosperity stage, 3-3:30pm.
