BBQ at Auckland Zoo – 8 April
A sunny day welcomed international students to Auckland Zoo for the first INAKL monthly event on 8 April.
As well as enjoying a barbecue lunch with friends and family, INAKL members explored the zoo’s grounds, home to more than 875 animals and 138 different species – including New Zealand’s iconic native bird, the kiwi. Burma the elephant paid a special visit too.
The FIFA U-20 World Cup mascot joined students to answer questions about the tournament being held in New Zealand, with the opening game in Auckland on Saturday 30 May.
The Mayor also attended the event to announce the first four successful students who have been selected as INAKL International Student Ambassadors – Ketaki Khare, Anri Pristidianita, Leslie Hu and Catherine (Jia-Yun) Tsai. You can find out more about the ambassador programme here.
