Whangaparaoa College is located in Auckland, New Zealand. Whangaparaoa is Maori for "Bay of Whales". Pods of orca and dolphins can be regularly spotted in the peninsula waters. Whangaparaoa is a very safe area which is surrounded by many beaches, parks and reserves. Classes will often walk to the beach for science or other lessons.
With Auckland City being only a 35 minute drive away students can still enjoy going into the city to enjoy a day of shopping or sight-seeing. Whangaparaoa College is a Year 7 to 13 school. The school opened in 2005 so we are a very modern school which offers lead technology and an innovative curriculum. Wi-fi is available throughout the school.
There is also a dedicated international students room, an English language support classroom and an international Academic Counsellor to provide assistance to our international students. We have a dedicated pastoral support programme for all our students. At Whangaparaoa College we understand that the homestay family plays a very important role in making sure our international students have a very memorable, enjoyable and successful overseas experience. Many of our homestay families have hosted international students previously and have made lifetime connections.
