ACG Senior College is amongst New Zealand’s top academic schools. From its beginning in 1995 as New Zealand’s only specialist pre-university centre, the School has become a focus for educational success. It has consistently ranked as the top coeducational senior school in the country.

A total of 41 Top in the World and 66 Top in New Zealand awards were gained by ACG Senior College students between 2005 and 2010. In addition, ACG Senior College students have achieved Top in the World in Art & Design five years in a row.
Extra-curricular choices
ACG Senior College’s reputation for its music and performing arts is widespread. There are a number of active music groups, including a chamber group, a vocal group, a guitar group, a jazz ensemble as well as rock and stage bands.
There are two major drama productions each year: A play in Term 1 and a musical production in Term 3. Professional directors and choreographers bring out the very best student performances. ACG Senior College offers a wide range of activities to provide each student the opportunity to meet other students, work as part of a team or develop leadership skills. These include debating, senior scholars, young enterprise, the ecological group and a student newspaper. Overseas study trips are arranged to Europe, the United States, Japan and Tonga.
ACG Senior College sports teams include:
Archery, athletics, basketball, cricket, cross country, mountain biking, netball, soccer, swimming, table tennis and water polo.
