Balmoral Primary and Balmoral Intermediate School are situated on the historical tree lined Auckland suburb of Mt Eden. The neighbourhood is only ten minutes by bus from downtown Auckland. Close by are a wide variety of experiences for students and their families, such as Auckland’s premier park, One Tree Hill, and the bustling Dominion Road with its large number of international restaurants. Close by is a number of community organisations such as sports clubs and public libraries. In five minutes walking distance is New Zealand’s largest mall St. Lukes.

The school caters for students between 5 and 13 years of age. There is a wide range of academic, sporting and cultural opportunities available to our students. The school has a librarian, and specialist English as a second language,  music, technology, food technology, science and art teachers.
The school offers an innovative curriculum built around exciting units of work that engage our students. We want all our children to think deeply and every child participates in philosophy for children each week. Reading, writing and mathematics form the core of our curriculum.
Students consistently achieve highly at the high schools they attend both in academic and leadership areas. Many of our students also participate in activities that involve them exploring the New Zealand countryside by attending camps and some tramps.
