Saint Kentigern School is an Independent Presbyterian School for boys in Years 1-8 located in the Auckland suburb of Remuera.  A preschool facility for girls and boys aged 3 and 4 is located nearby on the campus of our ‘sister’ school, Saint Kentigern School for girls. Our students are encouraged to continue their secondary education at Saint Kentigern College.

THE LEARNING PATHWAY
With programmes tailored to the specific learning styles and needs of boys, our mission is to inspire each of our students to strive for excellence in all areas of endeavour.  We recognise that boys, in particular, require a structured learning environment where goals are clearly identified and the purpose of learning is made explicit. Our integrated curriculum engages boys at every level in purposeful learning pursuits; capturing their interest in authentic contexts to give learning tasks real meaning.  A strong foundation of literacy and numeracy is at the core of this curriculum.

The School is a member of the International Baccalaureate Organisation, providing the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP is an inquiry method of learning that aims to develop internationally-minded students who bring a global as well as a local perspective to their thinking.
A large team of specialist teachers support the curriculum across the School. They bring specialised teaching expertise and offer student opportunities not usually available in a primary school environment. 

SPORT AND RECREATION
The School has exceptional sporting facilities and a staff to match when it comes to finding the right pathway to fitness and enjoyment for your son. Within the PE programme, all boys are taught essential skills to develop strength, stamina, agility and balance while engaging seasonally in swimming, gymnastics, athletics and cross country. 

PERFORMING ARTS
The opportunity to build skills and confidence is at the heart of the performing arts programme.  Music and drama play a large part in the life of the School. The School aims to strike a balance between providing a core experience for all boys and offering extension for those with the skill and desire to make performance a larger part of their development.
