Te Atatu Intermediate

Our commitment to our students and to their families extends to more than an academic promise or programme, although we firmly believe that these are vital. Te Atatu Intermediate School believes that the development of positive character and resilience is equally important.

The school’s philosophy and focus is founded on the three key phrases: becoming the best people we can be, achieving at the highest level possible and acquiring the skills to become life-long learners. Together with our strong commitment to a full academic programme, is a hands-on active effective character education curriculum.
Academic Programmes

All children take classes based on the New Zealand Curriculum: Maths, Literacy, Social Science, Science, Visual Art, Music, Physical Education and Health. In addition to this all students receive a full technology programme with classes in cooking, sewing, metal and woodwork.

Specialist, well qualified teachers teach music, art, technology, science and sports. In addition all classes have a home teacher. Students gifted in reading and maths are catered for in a specialist digital unit with an innovative, teaching programme designed for talented students. Our top students do exceptionally well in University of New South Wales exams each year. Students who need English support have their own home teacher and ESOL porgrammes.
