Flux is a tech startup accelerator programme run by The Icehouse. It backs ambitious founders to grow their startup by building a product customers love and raising capital to take it to the world.
Each year, Flux invests in up to eight startups and works closely with them over six months. Along with seed funding, the startups have free workspace at The Icehouse and gain access to top tier mentors, extensive global connections, exclusive events and workshops, and perks from corporate partners.
At the end of the programme the startups take part in a Demo Day, where they pitch their business proposition to potential investors, with a view to securing additional funding.
“The technology sector drives the region’s economic growth; Auckland is home to almost half of New Zealand’s tech firms and labour force, contributes over $9 billion a year in gross domestic product (GDP) and supports more than 65,000 jobs. ATEED is delighted to support Flux to help simulate tech entrepreneurship, as the city strives to become a major innovation hub of the Asia-Pacific.”
- Pam Ford, ATEED General Manager Economic Development
