We were proud to receive the globally recognised Enviro-Mark® Gold certification, awarded in July by Enviro-Mark Solutions – whose certifications meet and exceed the requirements of ISO standards and ensure consistent and comprehensive reporting, benchmarking and management under international best practise.
We attained Enviro-Mark® Gold after developing and implementing an organisation-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) in parallel with our ongoing commitment to internal sustainability practises. To achieve the certification, we had to establish strong environmental objectives and targets, monitor their significant impacts, and develop action plans. We are subject to Enviro-Mark Solutions’ annual auditing and aim to continue to improve our environmental activity.
Alongside our partners, we focus on economic growth that can be sustained in the long term and benefits both current and future generations. Holding Enviro-Mark® Gold accreditation means we can credibly lead initiatives which are driving sustainable outcomes for the region across many industries – from the support and delivery of major events with low carbon footprints, to supporting Auckland businesses to be more sustainable, and connecting innovative enviro-tech business with international markets.
We are also supporting Auckland Council’s development of the Auckland Climate Action Plan as part of an integrated approach to climate change, and work with local boards to support initiatives such as the Albert-Eden Sustainability Kick Start Programme, and the Otara-Papatoetoe Sustainability Awareness Programme. Those impressive pilot initiatives are an example of the many levels where we can influence behaviour, and work with like-minded organisations to support Auckland’s overall drive towards sustainability.
