Trade and investment links
Auckland's screen and creative sector is performing at an international level. Buoyed by a recent increase in overseas screen productions, the sector generated $250 million in export revenue and attracted almost $500 million in overseas investment in 2015.
Auckland is home to four film studios, including Kumeu Film Studios, a newly converted screen production complex just 25 minutes from the city centre. The 27-hectare site (67 acres) includes extensive stage areas, workshop and manufacture spaces, production offices, 12 hectares (30 acres) of forest backlot, an underwater dive tank, and an ocean surface tank.
