Go with Tourism has officially launched in Queenstown and Wanaka at 7am today.

More than 50 tourism businesses from the region are set up and ready to connect with amazing new talent.

The Queenstown Lakes district is the first destination outside of Auckland to adopt the initiative. After $5.2 million was recently awarded by the government, Go with Tourism will soon be launched nationwide.

“Auckland” has been dropped from the Go with Tourism logo and the website updated to prepare for its expansion.

Go with Tourism was a key initiative to come out of ATEED's Destination AKL 2025 strategy, which identified the need to increase tourism workers in Auckland and break down the barriers that prevented people from pursuing a tourism career.

Steve Armitage, General Manager – Destination for ATEED said: "This initiative is a game-changer for New Zealand and we are delighted that the concept has been adopted by Queenstown. The region is a popular tourist destination, so it’s a natural fit as the first location for the programme’s roll out.”
