ATEED's Tourism team arranged an exciting two days of weather broadcasts promoting Auckland to our key market during September.

Sunrise attracts 960,000 viewers daily (78% aged 40+), and they love coming to Auckland so much this was actually the fourth time the show’s weather presenter has come.

Sunrise Weatherman, Sam Mac says: “I have visited Auckland a few times over the last three years and love showcasing the mind-blowing scenery and fun adventures to be had.

“Sunrise viewers share a particular affinity with our kiwi neighbours and whenever we visit, the on-air/online response is always strong.”

Over the two days Sunrise filmed at Britomart where they were shown a waiata by The Haka Experience, chatted to Giapo about his fabulous ice cream creations, and sampled Māori fusion from Puha and Pakeha. They wrapped up the show with Adventure Capital speaking about Auckland’s growing network of cycle lanes and the uprising of e-biking.

The following day they broadcast live from Batch winery on Waiheke, and EcoZip also featured in one of the crosses, as well as a group of eager tourism advocates from Waiheke for a breakfast scene talking about the island as a vibrant visitor destination.
