Dans Le Noir?– Dining in the Dark

International dining phenomenon Dans le Noir? brings you an exploration of the senses beyond sight for Elemental AKL, in partnership with Grand Millenium Auckland. 

Renowned chef Akihiro Nakamura has crafted a surprise Japanese-inspired three-course menu with optional wine pairing to take you on a culinary journey of taste and texture with a twist – it’s served in the dark. You will be served and guided through the experience by a team of visually impaired guides, to share a moment rich in sharing and questioning.  

In the pitch black, the perception of flavors, textures, and smells takes on a special dimension – you'll become aware of how sight influences all your sensations. Let this experience take you out of your comfort zone to appreciate food in a new way. As you eat, artists create an enchanting ambient atmosphere around you for a full sensory experience.
