The Farm to Table Gourmet Weekend will offer up a superb gastronomic weekend-long experience. Spend time sampling local produce and learning the craft of local producers, brewers, and artisans.
On Saturday, guests will enjoy a sourdough bread-making masterclass with Dan Cruden from The Bread Project in Helensville, a brewery tasting and tour at Liberty Brewery, and a visit to one of the largest organic vegetable gardens in the North West Region with Chef Des Harris. The evening will end with a fabulous tasting meal at The Hunting Lodge Restaurant with matching wines a fabulous tasting menu.
Sunday will start with a tour of a Dianne and Richard Kidd’s award-winning Kaipara lamb and beef 1000 acre farm with panoramic views towards the Kaipara Harbour. The Kidds will share their insights into sustainable farming, and the importance of planting native bush throughout their property. The weekend will end with a hearty Kiwi roast at the Vineyard Cottages to enjoy Kaipara Harbour oysters and Kaipara lamb.
Guests have the option of choosing one day or the full weekend, staying overnight at the Vineyard Cottages in Kumeu.
