Okeanos Aotearoa Waka Tours

Okeanos Aotearoa is a brand new waka experience that offers two sailing options for visitors. Leaving daily from Karanga Plaza, Wynyard Quarter, visitors are able to enjoy a powhiri on board, and traditional waka kaupapa. The wakas are traditionally designed Polynesian sailing canoes built with modern materials and propelled with fossil-fuel free technologies. Visitors have the option to choose either a four hour or two hour experience, and depending on the sailing option, with either a hangi meal or light refreshments.

Dans le Noir, which is an international company offering patrons a unique experience by eating in complete darkness, guided and served by low vision or blind people, has recently opened in Auckland. Clearyak

Clear kayaks, known as a 'Clearyak’, are a brand new way to explore New Zealand marine life up close. Kayakers can enjoy a pure, peaceful experience with the vision beneath amazingly clear and detailed. Recently launched at Goat Island Marine Reserve, the new product allows visitors to view fish such as snapper (tāmure), parore, red moki (nanua), blue maomao, eagle ray (whai keo) and stingray (whai).

Auckland Whale and Dolphin Safari rebrand

Auckland Whale and Dolphin Safari (AWADS) is rebranding to strengthen its proposition as a sustainable tourism operator.

Over the next 12 months, as part of its ‘Discover Today – Protect for Tomorrow’ brand refresh, AWADS will engage key stakeholder groups, including the Department of Conservation and education institutions, to help develop conservation focused plan.  

The key purpose of this rebranding exercise is to highlight how AWADS is the leading contributor to marine research in the Hauraki Gulf.
