The Destination AKL Recovery Plan to support the re-emergence of Auckland’s visitor economy was today shared with industry.

Developed by ATEED and guided by the principles of kotahitanga, kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga as well as the strong foundations of the Destination AKL 2025 strategy, the Plan aims to support Auckland’s re-emergence as a more resilient and sustainable domestic and international destination.

The overall intent of the Plan is to provide leadership to the Auckland visitor economy by guiding an urgent and unified response to the far-reaching impacts of COVID-19. The Plan outlines 25 tangible actions to be enacted over three time horizons, spanning from now through to late 2021.

ATEED has engaged over many weeks with a broad range of industry partners and wider stakeholders to develop the Plan, and considers it a living document that will continue to be reviewed and adapted to reflect changing circumstances  and the uncertainty of the current COVID-19 environment.
