For international event and conference attendees looking to explore Auckland, there’s no better way to see the city than on the water.
Every year, Fullers360’s ferries serve six million passengers across the Hauraki Gulf, taking locals and tourists to and from 18 unique destinations across Auckland’s stunning harbour.
Visitors can travel to Auckland’s outermost islands – including Waiheke Island, Rangitoto Island, and Rotoroa Island – to see native animals in their natural habitats without impacting New Zealand’s delicate and unique natives.
Partnering with the Department of Conservation (DOC), Fullers360 hold a pest-free warrant, upholding vigorous biosecurity standards to ensure the conservation islands across the gulf which house native New Zealand species aren’t compromised.

To support the preservation of the islands, Fullers360 provides free transport to DOC workers and zoologists who facilitate tree planting, wildlife releases and other conservation initiatives. Fullers360 also works with conservation trusts across the Gulf, helping plant over 500,000 trees in collaboration with the Motutapu Restoration Trust.
In addition, Fullers360 contributes nearly $1M to community efforts and initiatives across the city including discounted travel for local sports teams, free travel for sick children and their family to attend medical appointments, reduced travel for swimming lessons in Auckland and ongoing sponsorship of Waiheke Primary School.
Fullers360’s commitment to sustainable outcomes extend to a focus on carbon emissions.
In 2020, in partnership with Auckland Transport, Fullers360 also launched a progressive programme to replace its diesel buses on Waiheke Island with electric buses, making the island Auckland’s first suburb to have an electric bus fleet.
Recognising the compounding contribution traditional modes of transport, such as diesel vehicles, makes to New Zealand’s carbon emissions, Fullers360 is looking towards green tech solutions.
“Over the past five years, Fullers360 has invested over $1m in research and development of electric and hybrid vessels, which will see a drastic reduction in carbon emissions from our ferries,” says Mike Horne, Fullers360’s CEO.
In 2021, Fullers360 announced Auckland’s first ever high-speed, plug-in, electric ferry which will reduce carbon emissions by 75,000kgs per year on one route alone. Set to be completed in 2023, the electric vessel owned by Auckland Transport will have capacity to transport 300 passengers at once across the Waitematā Harbour from Auckland’s CBD to the picturesque Devonport.
“We are passionate about working with our partners to deliver the world’s first large-scale electric fast ferry network, supported by a fleet of hydrogen-ready hybrid vessels. Green tech will enable us to do this and we will be proud to showcase this to our national and international visitors,” says Horne.
