Celebrate and share the welcoming warmth of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s Pasifika communities at Taste of Pasifika Festival 2022 this June.

 

Taking the best from the much-loved annual Pasifika Festival, Taste of Pasifika will celebrate and share the vibrant cultures of 10 Pacific nations across three days with a packed programme of performance, food, art, sport and wellness, and lots of soul.

Main Stage

 

Come alive with performances from across the Pacific including Samoa, Cook Islands, Kiribati, Tahiti and more.

On Monday 6 June, be treated to live performances from secondary school cultural groups including 2022 ASB Polyfest winners Manurewa High School and Avondale College.

Backyard Stage

 

Your place to unwind and enjoy kai and more Pacific entertainment. 

The Sunday Soul Sessions will be rocking with live Poly soul and RnB, followed by a special line-up of Māori waiata presented by Te Māngai Pāho. 

Come Monday, it’s your time to shine as the Flava FM unit hosts the Taste of Pasifika Open Mic session!
 

Tapa Bowl

 

Presenting the Moonwalkerz exhibition curated by Nigel Borell. Featuring recent works by artists, Ema Tavola (Fiji), Leilani Kake (Māori, Cook Islands) and Raymond Sagapolutele (Samoa).

For each, artmaking has helped them reconnect and find balance and order through the often-chaotic times of the global pandemic.

Talanoa Bowl

 

An exciting three-day programme offering insights into and engagement with cultural practices, artistic identities and expression, storytelling, wellbeing and healing, histories, “Fine & Pacific” communities, the environment, climate change and much more – presented from a uniquely Pasifika perspective.

 

Taste of Pasifika Marketplace

 

Taste of Pasifika will feature some of your favourite kai, craft and retail stalls.  Head to The Cloud for your mid-winter Pacific soul food fix and some early Christmas shopping!

Graf Art Installation

Don’t miss our live graf art installation taking place on Saturday 4 June, 10am – 6pm.  Graf artists Monty ‘Burns’ Collins, Race Normz, Kairau ‘Haser’ Bradley and Bobby ‘Berst’ Hung will work together to complete a 24-metre artwork live on the waterfront.

Most of the Taste of Pasifika 2022 events will only go ahead at the orange or green setting of the Covid-19 Protection Framework.

To ensure the health and safety of everyone attending, we recommend that the following measures are followed.

•    Face masks – these are not a requirement, but we recommend you wear one for your own protection. All our staff will be wearing facemasks. 
•    Hand sanitiser stations will be located throughout the Taste of Pasifika venues, and we encourage you to use these throughout the day.  
•    If possible, please try and maintain a one-metre distance from our staff and other people. 
•    If you are feeling unwell or have Covid-19 symptoms, been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, are awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test, are subject to isolation requirements or have visited a location of interest we ask that you stay at home and do not enter our venues.
 

Yes, If you require any assistance, please approach one of our friendly volunteers or staff, who will be happy to help. 

We encourage you to plan your journey in advance to avoid busy traffic or delays.

Visit Auckland Transport to see the public transport options for travelling to and from the Taste of Pasifika venues, and plan your trip with Auckland Transport’s journey planner.

With a registered AT HOP card, children aged 5-15 years can travel for free on Auckland buses, trains and ferries* on weekends and public holidays.

And, until 30 June 2022, you can enjoy 50% off AT travel fares, concessions, and the price of a new AT HOP card. For more information visit here.

*Excludes Waiheke Island ferry services.

Please note, Britomart Station will be closed from 3 – 6 June while construction work for the City Rail Link is undertaken. Scheduled buses will be replacing all train services during this time. 

There is no parking on Queens Wharf.

Closest parking is at the Downtown car park and also includes 19 mobility car parks.
