Terms and Conditions

1. Registration Process

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited Limited (AUL) welcomes entries to the “Explore Tāmaki Makaurau this Summer” Voucher Scheme. By entering the Voucher Scheme (including by ticking the ‘accept terms and conditions’ box), entrants are deemed to have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

In these Terms and Conditions the following definitions apply:

AUL means Tātaki Auckland Unlimited Limited.
Bookme means Bookme Limited. Bookme is the Fulfillment Partner to this promotion, and is responsible for the registration of entrants and allocation of Vouchers by way of a promo code.
Fulfilment Partner means Bookme.
Operator means eligible, participating Auckland attraction and activity operators as listed by the Fulfilment Partner.
Voucher means a voucher from Bookme inclusive of a promo code, valued at $50 for an individual or $100 for a family (including GST).
Voucher Scheme means the Explore Tāmaki Makaurau this Summer voucher scheme.

2. Eligibility

Entry into the Voucher Scheme is only open to Auckland residents aged 18 years and over at the time of entry. Auckland residents are classified as individuals residing within the Auckland level 3 lockdown boundary. Home address is required for validation at the time of registration.

Employees (and such employees’ immediate families) of Bookme, AUL and agencies associated with the Voucher programme are not eligible to register for a Voucher.

AUL reserves the right to exclude any entrant from participating in the Voucher Scheme at its sole discretion.

3. Registration

To enter, entrants must complete the Explore Tāmaki Makaurau this Summer registration form online via www.Exploreaucklandnow.co.nz

Registration commences on 15 December 2021 at 10:00 and ends on 25 February 2022 at 23:59. Entries received after this time will not be accepted. Late, misdirected, illegal, incomplete or illegible entries are invalid. Neither Bookme nor AUL are responsible for such entries nor for any error, technical malfunction, omission, communications delay or failure in connection with registration.

By registering for the Voucher Scheme, every entrant warrants that all information submitted is true, current and complete. Each of AUL and Bookme reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who does not comply with these Terms and Conditions.

Only one registration per person will be counted. Multiple registrations by the same person will not be counted. Only one email address per entrant is permitted.

Entrants must validly complete the following mandatory fields to register:

• Name
• Address
• Email address
• Mobile number. This is required for Operators to contact entrants regarding their Voucher
• Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
• Agreement to adhere to all Ministry of Health and Covid Vaccination Certificate guidelines when undertaking relevant activities using any Vouchers

4. Vouchers and Promo Codes

Vouchers can be redeemed towards an eligible attraction or activity on the Bookme platform, by way of the promo code.

There are 70,000 family vouchers valued at $100 each and 30,000 individual vouchers valued at $50 each.

A family is defined as three or more people unless defined otherwise by an Operator. Please check individual deals for the definition of a family group for that activity.

Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash, credit, or service, and are not transferable to any other person. Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion including using a Voucher in conjunction with another Voucher i.e., two or more Vouchers (independent or family) cannot be used together in the same transaction.

In the event a Voucher has been used and the booked activity or attraction is subsequently cancelled by the Operator, or is cancelled for reasons outside the control of AUL and Bookme, the Operator’s terms and conditions for the activity or attraction will apply and neither Tātaki Auckland Unlimited or Bookme will have any liability for the cancelled activity or attraction.

In the event a Voucher has been used and the booked activity or attraction is subsequently cancelled by the Voucher recipient, the Operator’s terms and conditions for the activity or attraction booked will apply and neither Tātaki Auckland Unlimited or Bookme will have any liability for the cancelled activity or attraction. Please check the individual terms and conditions for the activity or attraction at the time of booking.

If AUL considers it is necessary due to the impact of COVID-19, AUL reserves the right to change registration timings and announcement dates.

Only one promo code can be used per booking on the Bookme platform.

5. Selection and Voucher Allocation

The promotion consists of four (4) draws, with 25,000 Vouchers randomly allocated on each of the following dates:

a. Saturday 15 January 2022
b. Tuesday 01 February 2022
c. Tuesday 15 February 2022
d. Tuesday 01 March 2022

All entrants who have validly registered on or before 25 February 2022 but who have not been allocated a Voucher will automatically be entered into subsequent draws.

The Voucher will be sent electronically to the email address provided as part of the registration process. Entrants should be aware that any other person with access to their email account may be able to access, download and use the Voucher. Neither AUL nor Bookme are responsible for the security of entrants’ email accounts and are not liable for use of the Voucher by any unauthorised person.

In all cases the decisions of AUL regarding Voucher allocations are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Voucher recipients can only receive one Voucher, and they will not be eligible to re-enter the Voucher Scheme.

Voucher recipients are responsible for paying all additional costs associated with the activity booking beyond the value of the Voucher ($50 for individuals and $100 for families). Voucher recipients are responsible for all other costs associated with the activity (where applicable) including transport, meals, and other incidentals.

Vouchers can be applied against a deal that is less than the Voucher value. A new Voucher will be issued for the remaining amount, and this remaining value can be applied to another activity or attraction within the original 14-day timeframe. All rules remain the same for the redemption of the new Voucher.

Voucher recipients will have 14 days from the date of the Voucher to use their Voucher on the Bookme platform to book an activity or attraction. If a booking is not made within 14 days the Voucher will expire and become invalid. If a Voucher expires, the Voucher recipient will not be entitled to apply for another Voucher.

Voucher recipients are advised to check their email spam filters etc. Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and Bookme are not responsible for Vouchers that are caught in spam filters, or otherwise not received by recipients due to software and/or technical issues out of the control of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and Bookme.

6. Privacy

Any information we collect or generate about you in relation to the Voucher Scheme is referred to as Entrant Data.

Some Entrant Data will include 'personal information' (as that term is defined in the Privacy Act 2020). We will process that information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020, and the Auckland Council Customer Privacy Policy, available here

In addition to the collection, use and disclosure set out in the Auckland Council Customer Privacy Policy, we will collect, use, disclose and otherwise process Entrant Data for the purpose of administering the Voucher Scheme in accordance with these Terms and Conditions (including verifying entrant identity and eligibility). This includes providing Entrant Data to Bookme (which will be held in accordance with the Bookme privacy policy). Failure to provide mandatory requested personal information will mean that an entrant is unable to participate in the Voucher Scheme.

7. Rights of AUL and exclusion of liability

AUL reserves the right to refuse to provide a Voucher to an entrant who is in breach of these Terms and Conditions, gained an unfair advantage in participating in the Voucher Scheme or obtained a Voucher by using fraudulent means (or cancel a Voucher if already provided). The relevant entrant may be precluded from any future participation in the Voucher Scheme.

AUL is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury (including and without limitation any indirect or consequential loss) suffered by any person in connection with the Voucher Scheme, except for any liability under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Variation of these Terms and Conditions

If it is reasonably necessary to do so, AUL may vary these Terms and Conditions, and may modify, terminate, or reschedule the Voucher Scheme at any time.

9. Fulfilment Partner

The Voucher Scheme is hosted and managed on behalf of AUL by the Fulfilment Partner whose registered office is located at Bookme Limited, Level 2, 11-17 Church Street, Queenstown 9300.

10. Applicable Laws

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand and shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
