Rugby is New Zealand’s national sport and a big part of our culture – these international students had the chance to try the game on Rugby Have a Go Day.

More than 50 students took part on the day, learning basic rugby skills, meeting other international students from around the world, and getting a taste of Kiwi culture. Meeting players from the mighty All Blacks – New Zealand’s legendary national rugby team – was a highlight, as well as learning how rugby’s values can help form bonds and leadership skills.

After the Rugby Have a Go Day, 28 people were chosen to go through the two-week training experience at the Auckland International Rugby Academy.
