Introducing Study Auckland student ambassador Seohyun Min (Sonia) from South Korea.
Sonia is studying a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Pharmacology at the University of Auckland.
Kia ora Sonia, what do you love about Auckland city?
I love how Auckland has a balance between people and the environment. Auckland has beautiful beaches everywhere, but also it’s very easy to find mountains/hills as well. Auckland is a great place for me as I love green spaces.
What kind of new relationships did you make as a student in Auckland?
After studying in Auckland for almost 9 years now, I have met so many people. But most importantly, I have made lifelong friends. To me, my friends are someone who I can rely on and ask for their help. They are now part of my life as friends but also as an extension of my family, and sometimes my guardian, who I cannot live without.
What has been your favourite experience in Auckland?
Personally, the whole experience of studying at University has been incredible. I have met so many new people. My 5 years in High School was also amazing but I really do enjoy the freedom of University a lot more! During the gaps in my lectures, I hang out with friends and find new restaurants to try!
Fun fact about yourself?
I love watching movies, so I try to watch at least one movie every week. After noting all the movies I’ve seen so far with an app, I have watched 493 movies, which is equivalent to 889 hours! I am keen to reach 500 movies soon!
