Tāmaki Makaurau’s unique Māori history, heritage and contemporary culture will be centre stage at the Tāmaki Herenga Waka Festival on Auckland’s waterfront from Saturday 27 – Monday 29 January 2018 (Auckland Anniversary Weekend).
Enjoy three days of traditional and contemporary Māori culture, with performances from Māori musicians and top kapa haka groups.
Wander the village marketplace and discover delicious kai (food) and a variety of authentic arts and crafts.
Experience traditional Māori games, workshops and talks, healing and ta moko, and storytelling.

The free, family-friendly Tāmaki Herenga Waka Festival is being delivered by Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) in partnership with the 19 mana whenua of Tāmaki Makaurau.
