After being picked up in Auckland, our first stop is at the Arataki Visitor Centre at the entrance to the Waitakere Ranges rainforest. The Arataki Visitors Centre has dramatic panoramic views across the rainforest and both of Auckland’s harbours as well as views back to Auckland City. It is also home to some traditional Māori carvings and your guide will talk about them and explain their significance for the area. You will have some time to explore the centre as well.
We then head out to Piha for a stop at the iconic Piha store where you can buy some lunch before we can give you some options as to what you want to do with the rest of your time in Piha. You might want to walk up to the Kitekite waterfall and go for a swim.
