With the pink path and Sky Tower in the background, it is the ideal setting for a selfie. Even better at night, the LED light poles change colours behind you, allowing you to capture some stunning shots if you know how to work that lens!

Sky Tower

Standing at 328 metres, the Sky Tower is the tallest free-standing structure in New Zealand and the Southern Hemisphere. Go up the tower for a full panoramic view of the city, or simply photograph it from the outside – both will result in some cool Instagram-worthy shots. You might also snap a picture of a thrill seeker bungee jumping 192 metres off the Sky Tower – or will that person be you?

Maungakiekie One Tree Hill

Maungakiekie One Tree Hill is a well-known landmark in Auckland that is both historically significant and scenic. The picturesque Domain and the neighbouring Cornwall Park make up One Tree Hill, the largest parkland in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Pictures from the tihi (summit) are beautiful, but when descending, make sure to also capture some shots of the grazing sheep and cattle.  

Muriwai gannet colony

Calling all bird lovers! Head to Muriwai Beach and follow the cliff-top trails where you will see a massive gannet colony nesting there from August to March each year. Surrounded by cliffs and the ocean, Muriwai will provide you with a moody backdrop to capture some epic ‘gram’ action. Sunset enthusiasts will also enjoy the breath-taking evening views.

It is also one of the most idyllic places in Auckland to ride a bike, walk your dog or to simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Maungawhau Mount Eden

A visit to Auckland's highest volcano is an absolute must for a panoramic view of the city. Climb to the summit of this now-dormant volcano. When you reach the top, you will not only have spectacular views of the city, but you will also notice a massive crater in the middle of this natural wonder - quite impressive! The crater is considered sacred, so please do not walk through it.
