Situated in the heart of Auckland city, St Matthew-in-the-City has been a part of the community for over 110 years.
The stained-glass windows of St Matthew's date from the earliest days of the church to the present day. Each window contains a unique array of symbols and colours, inviting viewers to reflect on significant moments in the history of the church. St Matthew's stained-glass windows have been created by many fine glass artists from England and New Zealand.
You are invited to a free, self-guided tour of the stained-glass windows of St Matthew's, from 10 am to 4 pm on weekdays during Auckland Heritage Festival. Detailed printed information about each window will be provided, along with a simplified 'I Spy' guide for children.
The church may occasionally be closed during this time for private functions.
