Coming of Age Ceremony - Seijinshiki 2017

We are holding a ceremony that celebrates the Japanese tradition of teenagers who turn 20 and are thus 'coming of age'. In Japan, this tradition is both a celebration and encouragement for young adults to gracefully embrace adult life and help them realise that they are now self-reliant members of society.

Our event in Auckland is no different, there will be authentic Japanese food sold, live performances of traditional Japanese entertainment and guests will have the experience of taking part and gaining an in-depth understanding of the ceremony and values it holds.

This event is sponsored by the Nominal Support Consulate-General of Japan in Auckland, Daikoku, Shiseido and much more.
