Corona Piha Pro: CANCELLED

The Corona Piha Pro marks professional surfing's triumphant return to New Zealand. The World Surf League Challenger Series event will see global surfing icons 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater and four-time World Champion Carissa Moore, as well as 2015 Champion Adriano De Souza and Bethany Hamilton descend on Piha, just a 45-minute drive west of Auckland city.

The stellar line-up is sure to see huge demand, however access will be limited - there are only two ways to get to Piha to see the Corona Piha Pro live.

How to watch the Corona Piha Pro
Due to the limited amount of parking space within Piha, and the challenging access via Piha Road, fans will only be able to enter Piha during the period of the Corona Piha Pro (16-22 March) by purchasing one of the following for the relevant date:

- A Vehicle Pass with designated parking in Piha - $20 per car (we recommend people carpool with this option as much as possible, as cost is per car)

- Shuttle Buses departing Parrs Park in Glen Eden (18-22 March only) – return tickets are $10 per person, and tickets must be booked for specific shuttle times

Both of these options must be purchased online.

If purchasing a Shuttle Bus ticket, people can either drive and use the Park-and-Ride at Parrs Park, or use public transport – Sunnyvale is the closest train station to Parrs Park.

Piha residents will be given Resident Vehicle Access Passes and Guest Passes to help ensure smooth and constant access for them throughout the seven-day event window.

There will be a managed access point on Piha Road (near the Karekare turn-off). Once through this point, vehicles with designated parking will be directed to their specific area. Managing access to Piha will help reduce the chances of congestion and ensure people can get into Piha more efficiently.

Any vehicles without the required access will not be permitted entry to Piha at the managed access point.

Because of the unpredictable nature of surfing, there are no guarantees the competition will run if the conditions prevent it. In the event that competition is delayed or cancelled on a particular day, you are welcome to attend as the event will be open, with activation and activities operating as normal. Please keep an eye out for competition cancellations or delays on our Facebook page. Important note: Once you have purchased your vehicle access parking permit, a refund cannot be issued.

Please note; we are unable to advise who will be competing at which time throughout the event due to the unpredictable nature of the schedule.

Please see the WSL Piha Pro Facebook page or the WSL Piha Pro Event Guide for more important event information.
