On the weekend of October 17-18, Auckland’s Aotea Square precinct will light up with the sparkling Diwali Festival, which draws thousands of Aucklanders and visitors together each year for a celebration of traditional and contemporary Indian culture in its many exciting forms.
For two days, the square and the streets around it are host to live music and dance performances, street theatre, workshops, stalls with a vast range of Indian foods and sweets, and a dazzling fireworks display.
The family-friendly festival, which draws people from all ethnic backgrounds, is also New Zealand’s largest vegetarian festival.
Do you want to help light up the Auckland Diwali Festival 2015? Applications are now open for performers who want to take part in this year’s festival. Applications for stallholders are now closed. Find out more here>
