The sights, sounds, tastes and colours of the Pacific – all in one place.
Pasifika Festival is made up of 10 unique villages that showcase the cultures of 10 Pacific Island nations – Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, Tokelau, Tuvalu and Aotearoa – as well as shared Pan-Pacific areas made up of stalls retailing products from a variety of Pacific Islands.
The festival turned 21 this year and was expanded to two days to allow even more people to experience this amazing event. The 2013 festival featured more authentic and traditional Pasifika villages, and for the first time a multi-denominational church service on Sunday morning, under the theme of ‘many nations, one god’.
Pasifika Festival began in 1992, and has grown into one of Auckland's biggest cultural events - celebrating its 21st birthday this year.
