Getting Here
We encourage the use of public transport or alternatives like e-scooter, ride shares (taxi), cycling and walking, where possible.
Festival Address: Aotea Square, 291 Queen Street, Auckland CBD
BUS AND TRAIN
Aotea Square is located in the Auckland city centre, a 15-minute walk from Waitematā Station (Britomart) and the Downtown Ferry Terminal. Kids aged 5-15 years travel free on weekends with a registered HOP card*.
Dreading the walk up Queen Street? Catch a complimentary rickshaw from the Waitematā (Britomart) transport hub. Just look for the BNZ Rickshaw pick-up point and hop on for a free ride.
Regular bus services are also available to and from the city from locations across Auckland. Final services are generally between 11pm and 12am (midnight).
PARK AND RIDE
Parking restrictions and road closures will be in place, and with thousands expected to attend, the surrounding area will be busy with both vehicle traffic and pedestrians.
We strongly recommend the use of public transport park-and-ride facilities around Auckland for travel to and from the festival.

Bike Valet
Arriving by bike? Roll right up to the gate for free VIP parking at Gate C, located on Queen St & Mayoral Dr.
Managed by Bike Auckland, they will also be there to help register your bike to 529 Garage, an anti-theft and bike recovery database.

Lightbox Installations
This Diwali, immersive lightbox installations bring stories of South Asian identity, memory, and migration into the heart of the city centre.
The Light Within by artists Abhi Chinniah and Sahana Rahman in Freyberg Square, reflects on the evolving ways Diwali is celebrated across South Asian communities in Aotearoa - shaped by migration, family traditions, and cultural memory.
Deep दीप created by artists Jessie Kanji and Tarika Sabherwal in Khartoum Place / Te Hā O Hine Place off Lorne Street, explores Diwali as a layered narrative of ritual and renewal, drawing from devotional roots and making space for reimagining.
The installations can be viewed from 10 – 28 October 2025.
