Dubtastic at Covert Theatre

Warm up this winter with the crew from Covert Theatre who will be transforming classic black and white movies by dubbing over them, on the spot, with comedy from some of the country’s top improvisers. 

Dubbed Dubtastic, this bold new venture is brought to life by some of the leading lights of the Kiwi comedy scene. 

Featuring your favourite classics like Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Thing From Another World and The Quatermass Xperiment, the team of comedians will be improvising not only the dialogue, but the sound effects and music too. Hilarity is sure to ensue.  

To prove its not all pre-rehearsed, audience members will select which movie the actors dub over on any given night, so you can be certain you’re being served piping fresh improv.   

Dubtastic promises to be a rollicking hour-long celebration of the art of live improvisation, with no two shows the same!
