At Mike’s beautiful Muriwai farm, participants will be shown several cooking styles favoured by the Good From Scratch Cookery School, with Mike demonstrating how to prepare a pork belly to be cooked over a fire, before moving on to brining, stuffing and rolling.
Mike will also teach you all you need to know about hot and cold smoking, rubs, marinades and meat preperation while preparing the tantalising lunch to come.
After the demonstration, stretch your legs with a tour of the kitchen gardens taken by head gardener Adrianne who’ll share Good From Scratch’s principles and practices.
With your appetite well and truly fired up, you’ll head back to the school to enjoy a two-course lunch before a roaring fire while taking in the extensive views across the beautiful Muriwai valley. Bon appétit!
