Why not paddle from St Heliers Beach to picturesque Motukorea, aka Browns Island, for a delicious feast of locally sourced kaimoana.
Don’t be deterred if you’ve never paddled – no kayaking experience is required, and full instructions will be provided by your qualified?guides. All you need is a reasonable level of fitness, as you will paddle up to 4 km each way.
The journey should take around 60 minutes. Upon reaching Motukorea, one of the best-preserved volcanoes in the isthmus, your guide will share tales of the island’s colourful history, flora and fauna, while preparing your dinner.
Once the meal is over, say a fond farewell to the island and enjoy your magical paddle back to the mainland as the last rays of sun sparkle across the Waitematā Harbour.
What better way to stimulate the senses than by savouring a well-earned meal in nature – making this the ultimate kai-yak adventure!Auckland Sea Kayaks, bless them, will also provide warm tops, waterproof jackets, and paddling gloves to keep you snug and dry.
