Calling all wannabe detectives to The PumpHouse Theatre – it’s time to celebrate 10 years of Midwinter Murder Mysteries.
Buckle in for a trip back in time to 1920s London and the elegantly dangerous world of Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution.
Think glamourous flappers and cut-crystal accents, where everything is going just swimmingly – or at least it is until a brutal murder is committed.
But before you call the carpet cleaners to get the blood stains out of the hall runner, you must figure out who took the life of the victim, glamourous socialite Emily French.
To the untrained eye, all evidence points to Leonard Vole, a young chancer to whom the childless heiress has left her vast fortune. But did Leonard really take the poor woman’s life? Or is he simply suffering from a case of wrong time, wrong townhouse.
The stakes are high with shocking witness testimony and impassioned outbursts from the dock as a young man fights to escape the hangman’s noose.
Regarded as one of Agatha Christie’s most accomplished plays – complete with a twist in the tail - this suspenseful thriller will keep audiences guessing until the very end.
If you fancy yourself a dab hand at a whodunnit, be sure to join the cast of this lively detective caper, for a frenetic evening of clue-chasing fun at The Pumphouse Theatre this July.
