East Auckland is luring visitors to various locations along their stimulating Art Trail with a series of imaginative and inspiring events.
This exciting event promises something for every artistic taste, and will culminate in a retro disco on ice where skaters can display their dancing prowess.
So head out east where the sun reliably rises, and be inspired by heritage, culture and the pristine natural environment.
For all the art lovers out there, here are a bunch of exciting exhibitions at various galleries around East Auckland where visitors can view the works of established artists as well as up-and-coming creatives.
Top Students’ Work to be exhibited at The Art Lounge
On Monday morning, up to two students per school from local colleges will each receive a canvas, four colours and a brief. After which they’ll have three days to paint and three days to exhibit, then, on Saturday July 24 it’s prizegiving. Come and take a look and see the artists in action.

Art Exhibition @ Brookby Barn
Proceed to Brookby to enjoy an art exhibition featuring the works of local artists including homewares and prints by Dalene Meiring – and if you like what you see, you’ll be delighted to know that some goods will be for sale. Clevedon Creatives and Co
Local Clevedon artists have prepared their finest works for display, with the shop open throughout Elemental AKL festival. And to add another layer, there are painting demonstrations on Sundays, July 18 & 25, & August 1, 10am - 1pm. For more info, email email@example.com.

This popular exhibition is mounted each year by the Howick Art Group at The Fencible Lounge, and this year will include artist demonstrations. A wide range of artworks will be on display and if this merely stimulates your appetite to see more, take a short five-minute stroll to the group’s regular home, Green Gables in Cook Street.

Uxbridge Art & Culture Winners exhibition
This stirring estuary and ecology exhibition features the winners of the annual Estuary Art & Ecology Award competition. Now celebrating its 15th year, this promises to be a thought-provoking series of artworks.

Contemporary Art Exhibition
Throughout July, Te Tuhi, the renowned contemporary art facility, will be exhibiting two video installations curated by two different artists, featuring video works and sculpture in the galleries.

A groovy and unusual installation showcasing the work of beloved Polish artists Stanislaw Lem and Daniel Mróz, famed for their absurdly unique science fiction writing and illustrations.
