BBQ for Father's Day at Auckland Zoo
As Father’s Day steps into spring, you can leave the winter blues behind! Dad will feel like the king of the whānau when he sits down to a BBQ lunch on his special day. Our chefs have created something scrumptious, and we've given them the tick of approval.
There are two BBQ boards to choose from, and you can select the lunch that suits dad best – from the carnivore to the herbivore, we have you and dad covered!

Father’s Day BBQ is just the start of an incredible day of connection! Auckland Zoo boasts lush gardens and sprawling tracks (including the Dinosaur Discovery Track), and of course is home to more than 130 species of animals to enjoy at your leisure all day long. Plus, every time you book with Auckland Zoo, you're supporting our conservation efforts in Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world.
$73 per adult. $33 per child (4-14 years). Zoo entry is included in the Father’s Day ticket price. Auckland Zoo Members receive 15% off with valid I.D.
Pre-booking is required, bookings close Sunday 30 August 2026 or until sold out.

Getting there

Auckland Zoo is at 99 Motions Road. Buses 18, 11T, 11W, 195 and 65 stop on Great North Road, a 10-minute walk away. Baldwin Avenue Station is approximately a 30-minute walk from the Zoo. Paid parking is available onsite but fills quickly on busy days. Plan your transport.
