The Rainbow Games Opening Ceremony is offers priority access to registered participants, making it a prime opportunity for attendees to immerse themselves in the vibrant spirit of the event.
Produced by the renowned DJ and rainbow-entertainment maestro, Jordan Eskra, the ceremony promises an eclectic showcase of Aotearoa's finest queer, Māori, and Pasifika artists. Confirmed acts for the evening include the iconic Anika Moa, sensational RuPaul's Drag Race star Anita Wigl'it, glamorous Drag King Hugo Grrrl and the award-winning singer-songwriter PAIGE, all hosted by the fabulous Luke Bird. Attendees can expect a mesmerising Kapa Haka and more artists celebrating of our rainbow diversity and ensuring an unforgettable kick-off to the Rainbow Games Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland 2024.
The Viaduct Events Centre will serve as the perfect stage for this awesome welcome, setting the tone for the days ahead filled with over 10 sports events and an arts and culture programme at the Trusts Arena and nearby venues.
From 12 noon, the Viaduct Events Centre will act as a registration hub for Rainbow Games participants before doors open for all ticket holders from 6pm. The Rainbow Games 2024 Opening Ceremony will officially start at 7pm, starting with a Pōwhiri.

The Viaduct Events Centre is a 15-minute walk to the city centre and 13 minutes from Britomart Transport Centre. Paid parking can be found at Jellicoe Street Car Park.
