Enchanting audiences for nearly 65 years, The Sound of Music is based on the true story of postulant Maria Rainer and the von Trapp family singers. While Maria decides whether she wants to pursue becoming a Nun, she takes a job as governess to a large and very strict naval family. Through her love of music, Maria falls in love with the seven children, and eventually their widowed father, Captain von Trapp. The show features many household standards, including ‘Climb Ev’ry Mountain’, ‘Edelweiss’ and ‘Do-Re-Mi’. The Sound of Music promises an extraordinary time, with beautiful costumes and glorious music, as well as a sensational cast of first-rate young performers aged 6-24. The Sound of Music is the perfect family outing – whether it’s your first or your 50th time seeing the show, it will quickly become one of your favourite things!
