Iconic Auckland Eats – Peoples’ Choice Competition

2025 Terms & Conditions

Iconic Auckland Eats – People’s Choice Competition

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) welcomes entries to the Iconic Auckland Eats – People’s Choice Competition (the Competition). By entering the Competition, entrants are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted the following terms and conditions.

A. Competition

To enter, entrants must complete the TAU ‘Iconic Auckland Eats’ nomination form online at aucklandnz.com/iconic-eats or accessed via the Iconic Auckland Eats Facebook or Instagram links.

The Competition commences on 5 February 2025 at 00:01 and ends on 5 March 2025 at 23:59. Entries received after this time will not be accepted. All entries are deemed received at the time of nomination form receipt by Aucklandnz.com and Restaurant Hub, NOT at the time of transmission by the entrant. Late, misdirected, illegal, incomplete, or illegible nominations are invalid. Restaurant Hub and/or TAU are not responsible for such entries, nor for any error, technical malfunction, loss, omission, communications delay, or failure.

Every entrant warrants that all information submitted is true, current, and complete. TAU and/or Restaurant Hub reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who does not comply with these terms and conditions.

Entry is only open to New Zealand residents aged 18 years and over at the time of entry into the Competition.

Only one nomination per dish, per eatery, per person will be counted. Multiple entries by the same person for the same dish will not be counted. Entrants may nominate different dishes. Nominations for dishes at different eateries will be counted.

The Promoter is TAU, and the competition is hosted and managed by TAU in partnership with Restaurant Hub Ltd, whose registered office is located at Restaurant Hub, Level 2, NZME Central, 2 Graham St, CBD, Auckland. TAU’s registered office is located at 135 Albert Street, Auckland 1010.

B. Entries, selection, and prize draw

The Competition winners (Winners) will be decided by 28 March 2025. Winners will be notified by email no later than 28 March 2025. The announcement of the Winners will be made alongside the release of the 2025 Iconic Auckland Eats Top 100 list, no later than 19 May 2025.

The Winners will be selected from valid entrants by a team of moderators who will decide the best entries based on the story about the dish provided by the entrant on their nomination form.

If TAU does not hear from a Winner within 5 days of the email notification, or if for any reason the Winner’s entrant details are incorrect, or the Winner cannot be contacted within 5 days of being decided, TAU reserves the right to select another Winner.

If a Winner accepts the prize, the prize and the terms and conditions of the prize will be documented in an email to the Winner.

If a Winner declines the prize, the prize is forfeited, and TAU will confirm this with the entrant via email. TAU reserves the right to select another Winner.

The prize will be awarded to the holder of the email address from which the nomination was submitted. TAU and Restaurant Hub take no responsibility for disputes resulting from entries submitted using an email address belonging to another person.

The prize will be delivered within 28 days of the Winners being confirmed, where possible.

In all cases, the decisions of TAU and Restaurant Hub are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

C. Prizes

There are five prizes to be won, with each winner receiving five $100 vouchers (total voucher value for each Winner is $500) to spend at their chosen Iconic Eats establishments. By 30 May 2025, each Winner must notify TAU of the 5 places where they would like to dine, and TAU will issue a $100 voucher for each establishment. Each voucher can only be used once in the selected Iconic Eats establishment.

If for any reason a relevant Iconic Eats establishment is unavailable, TAU is not obliged  to create a new voucher or find an alternative Iconic Eats establishment.

The vouchers must be redeemed within 6 months of the date of issue.

The prize cannot be exchanged for cash, credit, or services, is not transferable to any other person and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.

If the prize or part of the prize becomes unavailable (for any reason), TAU reserves the right to cancel or amend the prize at its sole discretion.

Entry into this Competition is deemed to be acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Once a Winner has accepted the prize, their first name, surname, and nomination story will be promoted on, but not limited to, TAU communications, email newsletters, Restaurant Hub media, and social media platforms, including TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

The Winners consent to participate and co-operate as required in all promotional activities relating to the Competition.
