Iconic Auckland Eats 2026

After a 3-hr tree climbing adventure, we tried Hapunan for the first time. The Adobo Del Diablo gave us life. Steaming hot & delicious, the 3 of us sat at the small side table & scoffed it down. Their Beef Kare Kare & Taho is also a must everytime!

There was an island revolt after owner Brent Mills took the Snapper and Prawn Agnolloti off the menu – this was swiftly amended and he will never do it again! Arguably the best chef on the island. Cheers to The Courtyard!

I took my English girlfriend here on a date for the pacific inspired menu in a classy restaurant in the city so she'll fall in love with AKL. When she ate she did that little happy food dance girls do! After our travels, she's keen to move to AKL!

I went to Vietnam a few years ago, best food I have ever tasted. I went on the hunt for the best Bahn mi in Auckland trying many, but this was the best and by far! I met the owner, raised in South Auckland and using his mums recipe. Creating super traditional flavours that are delish taking me back to Vietnam right here in Mangere!

Roti Bros' butter chicken pie is AKL in a bite. Flaky roti outside, creamy butter chicken inside: messy, comforting, & ridiculously good. What makes it iconic is it's so AKL. We’re love our pies, but we’e also spoiled w/ incredible multicultural food
