Fantastic spot for a coffee break. I tried the Chocolate Muffin here and was impressed. It looked like it had chocolate chips in it but it was more like chocolate raisins once I bit into it. The place is lively with great seating. The staff is prompt and forthcoming. The entire experience was great.
Yesterday I had a salmon sourdough bread. It was far too red to be natural and I suspected that it had been colored to make it that unnatural bright red which I found to be true. The red color was all over the glad wrap. Today I decided to try out the banana cake and for $4.50 I had one bite... and it tasted like it was 3 days old. I left it on the plate, told the guy managing the counter that it tasted stale when he came to clear my plates and he didn't say anything about it, didn't offer an exchange for some other food item, didn't offer my money back. I don't recommend anyone go to this place. Find another cafe that serves you FRESH food and better customer service.
I have come here a couple of times when I've really felt like a sandwich. Hollywood cafe makes the best cheese and onion sandwiches and the staff have been very welcoming and friendly. Not sure why they're so quiet but atleast I can say if you want a quiet cafe with good sandwiches, come to K road Hollywood cafe.
