Such a delightful place with a cabinet full of tasty pastries, slices and baguettes. We had good coffee and the tastiest ham and cheese croissant I've had in a long time. I'll definitely be back to try other things.
Didn't have the chance to try their lunch or dinner menu, but the crèpe blew my mind. Tried the caramel one and the taste was fabulous. It's also very nice that most of the staff is French, and they welcome you with bonjour, bon appétit, etc. A piece of France in Waiheke :)
Frenchot is a slice (a very yummy slice) of France nestled in Waiheke. It's authentic; right down to the gorgeous French baristas, chefs singing as they make your galette and the cheeky French hosts. The cafe food is superb; both the quality and selection. The pistachio chocolate square is to swoon over, the lemon tart is rich and smooth and the pane raison are addictive - I must have one everyday with my coffee. Food and coffee aside, I would recommend becoming a local or at the very least visiting just for the ambiance, character and banter that Frenchot provides. For those with well behaved children, the full size dinghy outside with a twirling pirate's wheel and flags is a stroke of genius. Great outside area which is sheltered and when the winter sun is shining the staff will move the tables around so you have your own little spot - perfect!
